According to CoinMeta, the New York Stock Exchange (NYSE) is developing a blockchain settlement platform for tokenized securities. NYSE President Lynn Martin revealed this plan at a seminar in the South Korean National Assembly. She stated that the exchange is researching how blockchain technology can support future financial market infrastructure. It was also mentioned that NYSE participated in the tokenization pilot of depository trusts and clearing companies last July. This project may provide a settlement framework for tokenized securities that integrates with existing exchange infrastructure. Martin emphasized the necessity of responsible implementation, as well as the importance of infrastructure, rules, and safeguards. She also pointed out that technology is changing the way markets operate and the way capital flows to companies. The plan to implement a 23-hour, five-day trading day starting in December has been approved by the U.S. Securities and Exchange Commission (SEC).
