2026-08-11 18:10:06
According to CoinMeta, Coinbase has been granted a financial services license by the Financial Services Regulatory Authority of Abu Dhabi (ADGM). It will establish an International Securities Tokenization Center in ADGM to carry out investment matching and custody services, as well as issue securities tokens backed by underlying stocks. Licensed addresses will enjoy shareholder dividends and voting rights. Investors can participate simply by using their wallets, and all transactions will undergo sanctions screening. The platform has the capability to freeze or seize assets at the wallet level. This center will serve as the core infrastructure for Coinbase's blockchain-based capital market in Abu Dhabi and, together with its global derivatives business in Dubai, will form the two major overseas business hubs of Coinbase in the United Arab Emirates.
