Her Meituan account with the ID MIS was once searchable, and her specific job title currently has two versions: L7 and L8. As early as March, she listed ByteDance's recruitment opportunities on her personal account GitHub, and there were rumors that she would join ByteDance. In May, however, she faced criticism in the tech community due to issues with her resume packaging and open-source contributions. The controversy mainly centered around the Deerflow project, where some members of the community, after reviewing her public contribution records, believed that she had presented her relatively limited contributions as more significant project experiences. This time, she has joined the Beam project, which is a core local business initiative launched by Meituan's Wang Puzhong, with the goal of creating "a personal life assistant for everyone." The project later became known as "Xiaomei" AI Life Assistant, aiming to directly connect users with Meituan services such as dining and hotels, so that it could not only answer questions but also help users complete practical tasks.
