According to CoinMeta, as reported by livecoins, Brazilian Federal Congressman Julia Zanatta has submitted a draft legislative decree proposing to suspend the 24-hour mandatory waiting period imposed by the Central Bank of Brazil on certain cryptocurrency transfers. The regulations concern ordinary users transferring more than $10,000 in equivalent cryptocurrency assets to self-hosted wallets or overseas trading platforms, with the aim of preventing fraud risks. Zanatta believes that the legal basis for the central bank to impose this mandatory waiting period is insufficient and questions whether the freeze period may be further extended, as well as the inadequacy of the investor appeal mechanism.
