Singapore Property Investment Analysis: Why I Gave Up
2026-08-11 23:58:16
According to CoinMeta, although the mortgage loan interest rate in Singapore is only 2%, I ultimately decided to forgo purchasing a property when considering investing in real estate. Over the past few months, I have conducted in-depth research on all aspects of home buying and found that the monthly mortgage payment of $10,000 is much higher than the cost of rent. Moreover, with the high housing prices in the United States, buying a house does not seem to be a cost-effective option. Although I wish to increase the exposure of real estate in my investment portfolio, the high property taxes and insurance fees in the Singaporean housing market further increased the cost of purchasing a property. In the end, I decided to continue renting and explore other investment opportunities instead.
