Riot stock rises 5% after signing a $9.1 billion data center leasing agreement with Anthropic

According to CoinMeta, after Riot Platforms signed a 20-year data center leasing agreement worth approximately $9.1 billion with Anthropic, the stock price rose by about 5%. The agreement covers 191 megawatts of critical IT capacity located at the Rockdale campus in Texas and is expected to generate approximately $9.1 billion in contract revenue for Riot. Riot also plans to deploy the remaining 95 megawatts of IT capacity by June 2028. The company reported revenue of $174.2 million in the second quarter, although bitcoin mining revenue decreased to $113.7 million.
