According to CoinMeta, ExxonMobil ( NYSE : XOM ) announced its financial results for the second quarter of 2026 on July 31. The adjusted earnings per share were $3.52, which fell short of analysts' expectations of $3.60, although this figure is a significant increase from last year. The company reported revenues of $14.5 billion and earnings per share of $3.48. Although profits did not meet expectations, the company's operating cash flow reached $23.6 billion, with free cash flow at $17.2 billion, sufficient to support a shareholder distribution of $9.4 billion. ExxonMobil's upstream production reached its highest level in over 20 years, with production in the Permian region exceeding 1.8 million barrels of oil equivalent, meeting the company's 9% annual growth rate target by 2030. The company also launched its fifth Guiana production vessel during this quarter, which is expected to be online in the fourth quarter of 2026, adding 250,000 barrels of production capacity. Although the free cash flow in the first quarter was only $2.7 billion, insufficient to cover the $9.2 billion in shareholder distributions, the company reduced its debt by $7 billion in the second quarter, bringing the net debt-to-capital ratio down to 11%.
