According to CoinMeta, Empery Digital announced the sale of 1,635 Bitcoin, with a transaction amount of approximately $102.2 million. The proceeds from the sale will be used to repay debts and repurchase shares. As per its 10-Q report submitted on August 7th, Empery Digital's total Bitcoin holdings have decreased to 1,279 coins, of which 954 are held as collateral, with 325 remaining as freely held coins. This figure is crucial for investors, as freely held Bitcoin becomes more important when the company needs financial flexibility. The company stated that selling Bitcoin is part of its capital management decisions and may reduce leverage, support equity value, or improve financial flexibility.
