2026-08-12 12:30:23
According to CoinMeta, and as reported by Bloomberg, with the conclusion of the 2026 World Cup, the forecast market has seen a noticeable trading downturn, with the business of Polymarket experiencing a particularly severe decline. Based on data aggregated from Dune Analytics users, due to the lack of major sporting events or political incidents to boost demand, the combined weekly trading volume on Polymarket international and domestic exchanges in the United States dropped significantly by 56% at the end of July compared to the historical high in June. In contrast, rival Kalshi was less affected, with a weekly trading volume decline of 25% during the same period. Analysis indicates that as the benefits of the World Cup fade, the intense competition between the two leading players is facing pressure to slow down.
