Harmony Suffers a $4 Billion Attack, Token Price Plunges by 30%
2026-08-12 13:18:32
According to CoinMeta, the Harmony platform suffered a $ONE attack worth up to 4 billion US dollars, which caused the token price to plummet by 30%. This unauthorized minting accounted for approximately 26% of the total supply, and the attackers have transferred 2.8 billion $ONE tokens to exchanges. Currently, there are only 115 million $ONE tokens left on the chain, with the vast majority having been sold or stored in exchange wallets, possibly preparing for further sales. Harmony has confirmed this attack and stated that they are working with exchanges to freeze the funds, while also preparing to release a patch and potentially perform a chain rollback.
