ADNOC Plans to Use "Covert Transportation" Strategy to Help Iraq Export Crude Oil
2026-08-12 15:28:59
According to CoinMeta, Abu Dhabi National Oil Company of the United Arab Emirates ( ADNOC ) is proposing to help Iraq transport oil exports through the Strait of Hormuz, utilizing their "covert transshipment" strategy to deliver crude oil from places like Basra to refineries in Asia. As a state-owned oil company of the UAE, ADNOC is one of the most successful producers in transporting crude oil out of the Persian Gulf. The company adopts what is known as the "transshipment" strategy, where vessels make short voyages – usually turning off their ship's transponders to avoid being tracked – and then the cargo is typically transferred to other ships at sea outside the Gulf.
