Kakao Pay Prepares to Issue Korean Won Stablecoin and Build a Global Ecosystem

According to CoinMeta, South Korea's leading mobile payment platform Kakao Pay stated in its latest recruitment announcement that it is preparing to issue a Korean won stablecoin and build a global ecosystem. The company is currently recruiting product managers for stablecoins and wallets, as well as server developers responsible for the issuance and circulation of the stablecoin, and plans to collaborate with major South Korean partners, global enterprises, cross-border payment and remittance networks, and blockchain infrastructure partners. Kakao Pay previously mentioned during its second-quarter earnings call on August 4th that it was designing and verifying the stablecoin business from both the issuance and circulation perspectives.
