According to CoinMeta, Coinbase has deployed a high-performance matching engine in Deribit, which can process over 100,000 orders per second with a matching latency of less than 1 millisecond. This upgrade will connect Deribit to the same core execution infrastructure as Coinbase International Exchange. The new engine includes a built-in speed buffering mechanism for certain types of trades, and Coinbase plans to migrate all its perpetual contracts to this matching engine later this year.
