Fidelity Plans provides staking services for its $898 million Ethereum fund

According to CoinMeta, Fidelity announced that it will add Ethereum staking and quarterly cash distributions to its $898 million Ethereum fund ( FETH ), allowing for the staking of up to 100% of Ethereum under normal circumstances. In a document submitted to the U.S. Securities and Exchange Commission on August 11, Fidelity revised the fund's registration statement to include staking, permitting FETH to receive rewards from the Ethereum it already holds. Fidelity plans to begin staking as soon as possible after the prospectus takes effect. Under the proposed structure, Fidelity is not required to stake a minimum amount of Ethereum; although it can commit up to 100% of Ethereum to validators under normal circumstances, some of the Ethereum can still be used for redemptions, fund fees, distributions, and liquidity management when needed. The document defines normal conditions as those in which Ethereum operates without significant disruptions, redemption activities remain within expected ranges, and there are no special events that require Fidelity to hold additional Ethereum.
