According to CoinMeta, the Anchorpoint financial company, led by the standard Chartered, has begun to launch its Hong Kong dollar-backed stablecoin HKDAP, which is focused on institutional payments and settlements. After obtaining one of the first two issuance licenses in Hong Kong, the HashKey exchange and the OSL group act as authorized distributors, allowing qualified institutions to access HKDAP through their applications. The first铸造 and redemption transactions of HashKey have been completed, including exchanges with fiat currencies. Anchorpoint plans to utilize these distributors to introduce the token into financial applications such as payments and settlements. HKDAP represents “Hong Kong dollar parity”; this stablecoin is a cryptocurrency pegged to a fiat currency and is widely used for financing crypto transactions and facilitating cross-border capital flows. Hong Kong’s stablecoin regulations came into effect on August 1, 2025, requiring issuers to obtain licenses and meet relevant standards. HSBC, as another initial license holder, is preparing its own stablecoin for the second half of 2026.
