Bitcoin Proposes a soft fork; BIP-54 Completes the specifications; F2pool Does not support early activation

According to CoinMeta, F2pool, co-founder of the digital asset mining pool, stated that the proposal for a soft fork BIP-54 (consensus cleanup) by Bitcoin was completed in May 2026. The purpose of this fork is to fix four issues related to the consensus rules, without adding any new features to Bitcoin. F2pool does not support the premature activation of BIP-54. It was mentioned that if the proposal obtains the required majority through the standard BIP-9 process, the mining nodes will be upgraded, but no support signals will be given in advance. This fork has already been tested in the testing environment Bitcoin Inquisition based on Signet. Mining pools Mara and ViaBTC have voluntarily produced compatible Coinbase transactions. However, the official activation parameters are not yet determined, and the mainnet voting has not been completed. Previously, a proposal to restrict certain non-financial data in Bitcoin transactions, known as BIP-110, did not gain sufficient support from miners and stalled around block height 961,635. BIP-54 does not involve restricting the functionality of general scripts.
