According to CoinMeta, since the encryption ATM legislation in Arizona came into effect in September 2025, it has helped 35 fraud victims recover a total of $171,332 in full refunds. According to the Arizona Attorney General's Office, victims must report fraudulent transactions to the operators and law enforcement within 30 days in order to be eligible for a refund. The legislation requires encryption ATM operators to refund qualified new customers who were induced into transactions through fraud, including any related fees. Arizona Attorney General Chris Myers urges victims to contact her office immediately in order to report fraudulent transactions within 30 days and ensure they receive their rightful refunds.
