According to CoinMeta, Google has released a sign language to text translation model and integrated it into its products. This model initially supports the translation of American Sign Language (ASL) to English. Users can gesture at their phones to search, write messages, input documents, and even ask questions directly. The model was trained using over 100,000 hours of data and covers more than 50 types of sign languages, with about a quarter of those being American Sign Language. The phone captures the coordinates of the hands, face, and body movements, and only sends these coordinates to the server for translation; the original video is not uploaded.
