SEC Tokenization Innovation Exemption Plan Further Postponed, No Details to Be Announced in the Short Term

According to CoinMeta, Wu said that according to reports by crypto journalist Eleanor Terrett, the tokenization “innovation exemption” plan for SEC has been further postponed, and no relevant details are expected to be announced in the short term. Sources familiar with the matter mentioned that one of the reasons might be that Article 10505 of Clarity Act regarding tokenization is still undergoing repeated coordination among stakeholders. If SEC proceeds with the related measures through the innovation exemption, it could affect the compromises reached around that clause. Therefore, this exemption may continue to be put on hold until the path forward for Clarity Act becomes clearer. SEC still plans to hold a public meeting on Friday to discuss new rules and exemptions for financing transactions involving crypto assets, namely Regulation Crypto Assets.
