According to CoinMeta, Apple CEO Tim Cook, along with Secretary of Commerce Howard Lutnick and other government officials, inaugurated a new manufacturing facility in Houston, Texas on Wednesday. The facility will offer free training and education courses. Apple stated that the factory will begin producing Mac Mini desktop computers later this year and will also assemble AI servers. Cook revealed that Apple has invested hundreds of millions of dollars in the facility. Lutnick said during the ribbon-cutting ceremony that the United States used to be a great inventor of global technology, but now that technology is manufactured all over the world. Cook will assume the role of Executive Chairman on September 1st, and John Ternus, who has long served as Apple's hardware executive, will take over CEO.
