Kaplan: The Fed's decision to maintain interest rates in July is 'absolutely correct'
2026-08-14 06:08:08
According to CoinMeta, Rob Kaplan, Vice Chairman of Goldman Sachs ( Rob Kaplan ), supported the Federal Reserve's 9-3 vote in July to maintain interest rates at 3.50%-3.75%. He stated that policymakers should remain flexible before September in order to make judgments while studying inflation and economic activity. Kaplan pointed out that future interest rate decisions should not be too rigid and need to be adjusted based on economic data. The Federal Reserve voted to keep interest rates unchanged at its meeting on July 29, despite regional Fed chairmen from Cleveland, Dallas, and Minneapolis supporting a 25-basis-point increase. After the decision, Bitcoin traded near $64,100, rising only about 0.3% within 24 hours.
