Federal Reserve Goolsbee: Inflation data improves, hoping for a reduction in the impact of tariffs

According to CoinMeta, Austen Gulbsby, the president of the Federal Reserve Bank of Chicago, stated that the latest U.S. inflation data has improved, and he hopes that as the impact of tariffs and the Iran war on oil prices diminishes, price pressures will continue to ease. In an interview with Fox News, he noted that the overall inflation level is still within the 3% range, which is still considered high, but recent data provides some encouragement. Gulbsby attributed the current surge in inflation to factors that he initially hoped would be temporary, including tariffs and oil prices. He said that if these pressures can be alleviated, the economy may return to what he calls the "gold path," where inflation returns to the Federal Reserve's target of 2%.
