According to CoinMeta, Harmony Protocol confirmed that an abnormal token issuance event, ONE, occurred on August 12th. Attackers exploited a vulnerability in cross-shard receipt revalidation to mint tokens. The investigation revealed that 4 billion ONE tokens were issued in the first round, and the latest on-chain reconstruction shows that a total of approximately 3.01 trillion ONE tokens have been issued. The Harmony Protocol vulnerability has been fixed, and the mainnet v2026.1.1 version was deployed at 14:30 on August 12th (UTC +8). The bridging service has been suspended, and Harmony Protocol is coordinating the freezing of funds and preparing to roll back the network to block 92,730,034.
