Pi Network Protocol 27: The Future Before the Last Upgrade
2026-08-14 16:26:22
According to CoinMeta, the core team of Pi Network refers to Protocol 27 as the “final planned upgrade,” but this statement has raised more questions. As the node deadline passes, the registration in the EU white paper is completed, and token prices are still below their peak of 97%, the real story lies in the development after the code freeze. The upgrade of Protocol 26 focused on contract security, state management, interoperability, and encryption capabilities, which means that the network’s smart contract layer has become more robust, and cross-chain communication capabilities have been improved. The completion of Protocol 27 will mark the end of the current development roadmap, and future changes will be made through different governance processes, rather than being forcibly implemented by the core team. Pi Network currently has 421,000 active nodes, and despite its large user base, the daily trading volume is only 6.6 million US dollars, indicating that most users are not actively trading on exchanges.
