The People's Bank of China promotes cross-border fund centralized management services for multinational corporations in both domestic and foreign currencies

According to CoinMeta, the People's Bank of China and the State Administration of Foreign Exchange have issued a "Notice on Matters Concerning the Centralized Management of Cross-Border Funds of Multinational Corporations in Both Domestic and Foreign Currencies," deciding to promote this service nationwide. The notice specifies that financial institutions, local government financing platform companies, and real estate enterprises are not allowed to participate, except for finance companies acting as hosting enterprises. There must be no fewer than three member enterprises of the multinational corporation both domestically and internationally. The total scale of international payments in domestic and foreign currencies of domestic member enterprises in the previous year must not be less than 700 million yuan, or the total annual revenue of domestic member enterprises must not be less than 1 billion yuan, with overseas member enterprises contributing no less than 200 million yuan. If the hosting enterprise is registered in a free trade pilot zone, the aforementioned requirements are halved. The notice will come into effect on August 14, 2026.
