According to CoinMeta, as reported by alea and research, at least 110 cryptocurrency companies have closed or restructured in 2026, with these companies having disclosed a total of $687.1 million in historical financing. Among them, 40 companies in the field of decentralized finance (DeFi) have gone bankrupt, and 17 are from the infrastructure sector. The median financing amount for the crypto companies that went bankrupt this year was $5.28 million, and the median duration of their existence was 4.69 years.
