The S&P Dow Jones Index announced on Thursday evening that Reddit would be added to the index starting before trading on August 18. Steve Hoffman, co-founder of Reddit, stated that the platform is leveraging artificial intelligence to increase ad sales and attract users who are dissatisfied with AI content. Reddit recently reported a 61% year-over-year increase in revenue for the second quarter, reaching $805 million, with a surge in ad revenue. Although Reddit stock has fallen 22% this year, analysts believe that its community and advertising monetization investments will create sustainable annual revenue growth.
