According to CoinMeta, U.S. President Donald Trump stated that (after defeating Iran) he would soon declare the Strait of Hormuz as "U.S. territory." Trump described the blockade against Iran as "irresistible" and likened it to "a wall of steel." He said that the United States is fully prepared to deal with Iran, will not allow Iran to continue its related activities, and will not permit Iran to possess nuclear weapons. Trump mentioned that the American public will "pay a very small price" for the increase in gasoline prices. He also said he doesn't mind hitting Iran's economy before the mid-term elections and noted that the U.S. has "made a lot of money" through tariffs.
