According to CoinMeta, hardware wallet provider Safepal recently disclosed a security incident that resulted in the exposure of personal information of nearly 39,798 customers, including names, addresses, and contact details, posing risks of phishing and impersonation to the affected users. However, this vulnerability did not affect any cryptocurrency funds, passwords, or private keys. Safepal emphasized that the core security of their wallets remains intact; users' mnemonics, private keys, bank passwords, bank account information, payment card numbers, and government-issued identification documents were not compromised. The company has fixed the vulnerability and taken additional security measures. Safepal also notified all affected customers and hired an independent third-party security firm to audit the repair measures.
