2026-08-16 22:15:05
According to CoinMeta, Cardano has announced a phased hard fork roadmap for Dijkstra Era. The first phase is scheduled to complete the code by the fourth quarter of 2026 and prepare for the mainnet launch, upgrading to protocol version 12. This phase will focus on launching features such as Ouroboros Linear Leios, Nested Transactions, and PlutusV4 Script Context, and will also include the necessary block structure and protocol parameters for Peras in advance. The second phase is planned to activate Ouroboros Peras through an internal hard fork in the second quarter of 2027, with the aim of accelerating transaction final confirmation. The above timelines are merely targets for completing the code and preparing the mainnet; the actual mainnet launch will still require testing by Preview and Pre-Production, as well as approval from the DREP, SPO, and the constitutional committee for on-chain governance.
