According to CoinMeta, DJI Innovation ( DJI ) made significant progress in its case against the U.S. Department of Defense on August 14. The United States Court of Appeals for the District of Columbia ruled that the lower court needed to rehear the case regarding DJI's inclusion on the Pentagon's "Chinese Military Enterprises" ( CMC ) blacklist. This ruling marks an important procedural victory for DJI in its years-long legal battle in the United States. DJI was first added to this blacklist by the U.S. Department of Defense in October 2022 and has publicly opposed it multiple times. After unsuccessful appeals, DJI officially filed a lawsuit in October 2024. In 2025, a lower court ruled in favor of the U.S. Department of Defense, and DJI subsequently appealed the decision.
