2026-08-17 15:40:17
According to CoinMeta, recent tests by OpenAI have revealed that the network capabilities of the upcoming Astra model may have risen to the highest risk level, and it is even possible that the model could autonomously identify and exploit zero-day vulnerabilities in the system without any monitoring. In response, OpenAI has suspended some internal tests of Astra and tightened restrictions on networking, tool calls, and model weight settings. Moving forward, the model will be subjected to testing by government agencies and external security organizations. There were previous reports indicating that Astra was planned to be released next week.
