Thailand plans to comprehensively revise key indicators for factory output

According to CoinMeta, Thailand is undergoing a comprehensive revision of key factory output indicators. This move comes after U.S. officials pointed out the widening gap between Thailand's surge in exports and the decline in domestic production, suggesting that it could be evidence of goods being transshipped through Thailand to avoid tariffs. Despite a 3.1% contraction in the manufacturing production index, Thailand's export volume in June still increased by 20.8% year-on-year, maintaining double-digit growth for the fourth consecutive month. Thai officials deny the accusations from the United States, arguing that the factory production indicators are outdated and fail to reflect the rapid growth in sectors such as semiconductors and other electronics products related to the artificial intelligence boom. The Secretary-General of Thailand's National Economic and Social Development Council stated that Deputy Prime Minister and Finance Minister Eknititi hopes to complete the revision work by September.
