According to CoinMeta, and based on data published on the website of the Canadian House of Commons, as of the 16th local time, over 200,000 Canadians had signed a petition with their real names, calling for the expulsion of the U.S. Ambassador to Canada, Peter Hoekstra. The petition accuses Hoekstra of repeatedly making statements that damage Canadian-U.S. relations and interfering in Canada's internal affairs, including "normalizing" Trump's threats to annex Canada as the "51st state" of the United States.
