The US plans to establish a regulatory framework for 24/7 tokenized stocks under SEC

According to CoinMeta, the U.S. Securities and Exchange Commission (SEC) has begun to prepare a regulatory path that would allow qualified platforms to trade tokenized U.S. stocks around the clock. The SEC is also formulating an "innovation exemption" that may grant selected companies temporary exemptions to test tokenized securities under certain conditions, while simultaneously developing permanent rules. SEC Chair Paul Atkins is expected to meet this week with President Trump, Nasdaq Chairman Michael Segal, the NYSE Group, as well as leading crypto companies. The proposal will allow approved platforms to offer digital versions of U.S. listed stocks and to conduct transactions outside of traditional exchanges' business hours. The final framework, qualification criteria, or implementation date have not yet been announced, so investors cannot assume that the tokenized versions of each U.S. stock will be available for continuous trading anytime soon.
