Saylor: Share repurchase is not a priority; cash reserves reach $4.8 billion
2026-08-18 02:56:46
According to CoinMeta, Michael Saylor, the Executive Chairman of MicroStrategy (MSTR), stated that share repurchases are not a current priority for the company, which is instead focused on building its $4.8 billion cash reserve. Although the possibility of share repurchases exists, the company is currently more concentrated on its preferred stock business. Saylor noted that if the price of MSTR shares falls significantly below their net asset value, repurchases might be considered. Currently, the price of MSTR shares has been affected by the decline in Bitcoin prices, with a decrease of about 38% since the beginning of the year. At the same time, MicroStrategy continues to issue common stocks to fund additional Bitcoin purchases, build up its cash reserve, and pay dividends.
