Bitcoin remains at $64,000; rising oil prices and yields affect risk appetite

According to CoinMeta, Bitcoin traded near $64,100 on Tuesday, up 1% for the day, although rising bond yields and climbing oil prices weakened the attractiveness of risk assets. Ethereum remained around $1,893, while other major cryptocurrencies were flat. HyperLiquid stood out this week with a gain of 8.3%. The yield on 30-year Treasury bonds rose to 5.33%, the highest level since 2007, as investors demanded more funds to support debt-laden governments and guard against ongoing inflation. Brent crude oil prices broke through $91 per barrel due to the escalation of tensions between the US and Iran, with Trump threatening to bomb Oman if it interfered with US operations in the region. This combination has become a macroeconomic obstacle limiting the performance of cryptocurrencies. Despite the pressure, Bitcoin has continued to rise, demonstrating relative resilience. If it breaks through $64,500, it will further prove that new buyers are absorbing the macroeconomic pressures.
