According to CoinMeta, SoftBank Group plans to issue corporate bonds worth approximately 1 trillion yen (6.26 billion US dollars) to retail investors in Japan, which is expected to set a new record for the largest issuance of retail corporate bonds in Japan. This will be SoftBank Group's third retail bond issuance this year, following previous issuances in April and June. The bond term is 7 years, and the specific terms (including interest rates) will be determined at the beginning of September. Analysts expect the coupon rate to be above 4%. SoftBank Group intends to use the funds raised for bond redemption and investments in artificial intelligence, including corporate acquisitions. The company has previously announced plans to spend 5.4 billion US dollars to acquire the robotics division of the Swiss engineering company ABB.
