Nasdaq to Launch 23-Hour Stock Trading, Entering the Crypto Market
2026-08-18 22:06:54
According to CoinMeta, NASDAQ is advancing a 23-hour trading schedule for U.S. stocks, with an expected official launch in December. This move aims to reduce the time gap between the stock and crypto markets. The new nighttime trading period will run from 9 p.m. Eastern Time to 4 a.m., while the existing pre-market, regular, and post-market trading hours will continue to exist. NASDAQ's 23-hour trading rule was approved by the U.S. Securities and Exchange Commission on April 10, 2026, and the relevant revision document is SR-NASDAQ-2025-109. This action has removed regulatory obstacles, paving the way for NASDAQ to announce a start date in December.
