According to CoinMeta, based on news from the United States on the 18th, an official from the U.S. Department of Defense confirmed that the U.S.-South Korea "Ulsan Freedom Shield" joint military exercise will end on the 21st, nearly a week earlier than originally planned. The official stated that, in accordance with instructions from U.S. President Donald Trump and Defense Secretary James Mattis, the scale of this joint exercise has been "significantly reduced," with some live combat drills being cut back or replaced by simulation exercises. On the 19th local time, the South Korean Joint Chiefs of Staff issued a statement stating that the joint military exercise scheduled to take place from the 17th to the 27th would end on the 21st, six days ahead of schedule, with the duration being halved. The statement also mentioned that, at the suggestion of the U.S. side, both South Korea and the United States decided to make adjustments to the timing and scale of the exercise, and the specific details of these adjustments are still under negotiation.
