U.S. long-term bond yields fall, and volatility in the bond market intensifies
2026-08-19 21:10:29
According to CoinMeta, as bond selling subsides, yields on U.S. long-term bonds have fallen. Despite the decline in yields, the market still faces the possibility of rising borrowing costs. The standoff in the Strait of Hormuz continues, with oil prices remaining around $90, exacerbating inflation concerns. Rising government debt and increased bond issuance for data center financing have also contributed to volatility in the fixed-income market. Tonight's auction of 20-year Treasury bonds will test investors' demand for long-term securities. Yields on 30-year bonds have fallen from 5.284% at the close on Tuesday to 5.19%, while yields on 10-year bonds have dropped from 4.706% to 4.62%.
