According to CoinMeta, as reported by bitcoin.com, the Australian Securities and Investments Commission (ACSI) disclosed on August 17 that a total of 19,400 online scams were taken down during the 2026 fiscal year, among which 3,106 were cryptocurrency investment fraud platforms. Scam groups used generative AI technology to forge videos of Australian Prime Minister Albanese and financial commentators, and set up counterfeit websites to induce investments. Well-known individuals had their identities stolen, resulting in losses exceeding 7.4 million Australian dollars.
