According to CoinMeta, the U.S. Securities and Exchange Commission (SEC) suspended its planned crypto innovation exemptions ahead of the voting on the Clearing Act on September 15. SEC Chair Gary Gensler stated that the exemption was withdrawn last Friday due to concerns regarding the progress of the Clearing Act for the digital asset market. He expects the rule to be proposed again at the beginning of October. This innovation exemption was intended to provide a regulatory pathway for companies wishing to use blockchain infrastructure to issue and trade tokenized securities.
