According to CoinMeta, Alibaba released its financial report for the quarter, in which it for the first time split up AI into two segments: Alibaba Cloud and Pingtou Ge were categorized under “AI Cloud and Computing Power,” while Model Lab, Qianwen Consumer Business, and Qwenwork were classified under “AI Labs and Applications.” The revenue from “AI Cloud and Computing Power” this quarter amounted to 48.437 billion yuan, representing a year-on-year increase of 45%. Revenue from related products reached 12.376 billion yuan, achieving a third consecutive quarter of double-digit year-on-year growth. “AI Labs and Applications” generated 3.338 billion yuan in revenue, with a year-on-year increase of 16%. After adjustments, there was a loss of 13.861 billion yuan, which represents a 330% increase in losses compared to the same period last year. Capital expenditures for the quarter were 67.678 billion yuan, a year-on-year increase of 75%, and there was a net outflow of free cash flow of 44.670 billion yuan. The group's total revenue increased by 9% to 268.953 billion yuan, while net profit decreased by 75% year-on-year. Management stated that the annualized revenue from “AI” related products has exceeded 49.5 billion yuan, and it is estimated that the cost of “AI” computing power assets can be recouped in about 3 years; this period may be shortened to 2 to 2.5 years in the future.
