According to CoinMeta, Japan's new export orders in manufacturing in August grew at the fastest rate in eight years. The deputy director of economic research at S&P Global Market Intelligence pointed out that Japan's private sector continued to perform strongly in August, with companies reporting the fastest growth in output since February. Both manufacturing and services sectors saw improvements in growth momentum, with manufacturing standing out particularly, as both output and new orders increased significantly. In addition, new export orders in manufacturing recorded the fastest growth rate in over eight and a half years, and there was also a substantial backlog of new business in industries related to semiconductors and artificial intelligence. Cost pressures eased in August, which is a positive sign for Japanese companies. Although input costs have still risen significantly due to the impact of the Middle East conflict on supply chains and energy prices, as well as a weaker yen, the overall cost inflation rate has dropped to its lowest level in five months. With improved corporate confidence compared to last month, strong sales growth, and continued employment growth, Japan's private sector is expected to continue to perform well.
