According to CoinMeta, S&P Global’s preliminary estimate for August’s manufacturing PMI was 53.2, lower than the expected 53.9. Although the manufacturing index fell short of expectations, the service sector within the composite index performed better, with all three indices remaining above 50, indicating economic growth. Chris Williamson, the chief economist at S&P Global Market Intelligence, commented on this report by saying that although the overall manufacturing performance was lower, the index remained stable, and the preliminary estimates were more positive. In addition, the yield on 10-year Treasury bonds rose by 1.8 basis points to 4.716%, and the yield on 30-year Treasury bonds rose by 2.3 basis points to 5.260%. Bitcoin gained 6.48%, and related stocks also saw increases.
