According to CoinMeta, Broadcom is in talks to raise $70 billion to $80 billion in debt to support artificial intelligence companies, including Anthropic. The senior portion of the financing is expected to be around $45 billion, with the subordinated portion at around $35 billion, although the exact figures are still subject to change. Bloomberg was the first to report on the deal, stating that the total amount could reach $100 billion, with institutions such as Blackstone and Apollo Global Management being in discussions to participate. The chip manufacturer is seeking historic capital to help finance the construction of AI and to meet the needs of new models and workloads. Broadcom announced in June the launch of a new AI platform aimed at providing 20 kilowatts of computing power for Anthropic and OpenAI. Blackstone and Apollo previously led the initial $35 billion in financing. NVIDIA stated this week that it will provide up to $105 billion in funding to build a new data center for OpenAI in Ohio. NVIDIA is also collaborating with six large asset management companies to push a $500 billion financing plan, considering computing infrastructure as a new category of asset. Broadcom's stock price rose by more than 1% on Friday.
