Uniswap Founder Warns CFTC: American Crypto Developers Are Turning to Overseas
2026-08-22 00:20:30
According to CoinMeta, Hayden Adams, the founder of Uniswap, warned at the first Innovation Advisory Committee meeting of CFTC that regulatory uncertainty in the United States is driving crypto developers and builders to move overseas. Adams' comments were made during a panel discussion on August 20 and are not part of any law enforcement proceedings or binding testimony. He pointed out that U.S. crypto policy is too vague regarding the efforts of builders to launch products domestically, recruit teams, and raise funds. CFTC has become crucial in the debate over U.S. crypto policy, as the industry has for years been advocating for clearer jurisdictional boundaries between SEC and CFTC. The lack of clear rules exposes exchanges, DeFi protocols, token issuers, investors, and developers to uncertainty.
