South Korean financial regulator deploys real-time AI encryption monitoring system
2026-08-22 15:10:15
According to CoinMeta, the Financial Services Agency of Korea has announced the deployment of a real-time system that scans transaction data, news, and online content to identify activities suspected of crypto price manipulation. The platform combines generative AI with machine learning to automate the processing of large volumes of transaction data that previously required manual inspection by investigators. The system first searches for assets with abnormal price or trading volume changes, then compares these activities with patterns identified in previous regulatory investigations, allowing staff to focus on transactions that resemble known forms of market abuse. The system also includes online content in its monitoring process, analyzing text from social media platforms, internet forums, and private chats, as well as video subtitles and audio, to check for pre-arranged transactions, false information, or coordinated buying recommendations.
