According to CoinMeta, after deploying version 8.4.0 to fix vulnerability Cosmos-EVM, Mantra Chain has resumed block production. This vulnerability caused its mainnet to be unable to process transactions for about 30 hours. Mantra Chain indicates that developers confirmed in a announcement on August 22nd that the mainnet had resumed block production, and the restart process involved validators and other members of the network validator set that perform Mantra operations. According to the project's event status page, block production was resumed at UTC on August 22nd at 5:30. The incident began on August 20th when Mantra detected that attackers were exploiting a vulnerability in the blockchain's upstream software dependencies. Developers responded by suspending the mainnet to prevent transaction processing, while the security team conducted an investigation into the activity. A preliminary notice from Mantra stated that all transactions and network endpoints had been frozen. This incident did not affect user balances, and there was no blockchain rollback or change in network status during the restart process.
